Evergreen shrub. Slow growth. Upright, hybrid boxwood is narrow in form. Bright green foliage retains color well in the winter. Regular water needs once established. This item listed as “Cone/Pyramid” has been formally pruned.
This plant maintains its shape with a once-a-year pruning after the first flush of new growth. Plan to prune by late spring or early summer, especially in cold climates. Prune earlier in the season so the plant has a chance to harden off before winter to reduce the chance of winter burn.
Late in the summer, it may produce another lighter growth spurt. It’s fine to clip off any wayward growth but use a light hand later in the Green Mountain Boxwood growing season.
They really require little time on your part to keep your plants looking good. And even less time if you allow them to grow naturally.
